Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Algoland LLC (“Algoland”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit algoland.us (the “Site”) or engage with us about the Algoland Compressor MaxSpeed software (the “Software”). We designed our products around a simple principle — we measure and verify, and we do not collect what we do not need.
01Who we are
The data controller responsible for your personal data is Algoland LLC, a Delaware limited liability company with its registered address at 2810 N Church St, Ste 89738, Wilmington, DE 19802, USA. You can reach us regarding privacy at info@algoland.us.
02Scope
This Policy covers personal data processed through the Site and through our business communications with prospective and existing customers. It does not cover third-party websites we may link to, which have their own privacy practices.
03Information we collect
We keep data collection to a minimum and collect only the following:
Information you provide
When you contact us (for example, to request a trial or pilot by emailing us), we receive your name, email address, company and the contents of your message. We use this to respond to you and to evaluate a potential business relationship.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider generates standard server logs when you visit the Site. These may include your IP address, browser type and version, referring page, and the date and time of your request. We use these logs for security, to diagnose problems and to keep the Site running. The Site does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Preferences stored on your device
The Site stores small values in your browser’s local storage to remember your choices. See Cookies and local storage below.
04Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies or cross-site profiling. The Site uses your browser’s local storage only for strictly functional purposes — to remember your preferences so the Site behaves the way you left it. Specifically:
- algoland-theme — remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance.
- algoland-lang — remembers your selected language (English, Spanish or Italian).
- algoland-cookie — records that you have seen and answered this notice, so we do not show it again.
These values stay on your device, are not transmitted to us for tracking, and contain no personal identifiers. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings, which will simply reset your preferences on your next visit.
05How we use information
We use the information described above to: respond to your enquiries and provide requested trials or pilots; operate, secure and improve the Site; communicate with you about our products where you have asked us to or where we have a legitimate interest in doing so; and comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
06Legal bases
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the following legal bases: consent (which you may withdraw at any time); performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering one; legitimate interests in operating and securing the Site and in business communications, balanced against your rights; and compliance with legal obligations.
07The Software and your data
Algoland Compressor MaxSpeed is designed to run entirely within your own infrastructure. It contains no telemetry and has no cloud dependency. When you use the Software, the data you compress is processed locally on your systems and is not transmitted to, received by or accessible to Algoland in the ordinary course of use. As a result, Algoland is not a processor of the content you compress; you remain the controller of that data. Where a specific pilot involves us handling any data on your behalf, the terms of that engagement will govern and, where required, a separate data-processing agreement will apply.
08Sharing and disclosure
We share personal data only as needed and only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards — for example, our website hosting provider and our email provider. These providers act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Legal and safety recipients, where disclosure is required by law, regulation or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Algoland, our users or the public.
- Successors, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
09International transfers
Algoland is established in the United States, and our service providers may be located in the United States, the European Union or elsewhere. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate legal transfer mechanisms — such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses — where required by applicable law.
10Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy — for example, to maintain our business correspondence and relationship with you — and thereafter as required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostics and are then deleted or anonymized.
11Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of it; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights arise under the GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them; note that we do not sell or “share” personal data as those terms are defined. To exercise any right, contact us at info@algoland.us. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.
12Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration, including transport encryption for the Site and access controls for our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13Children’s privacy
The Site and the Software are directed to businesses and are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
14Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after the changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
